What a Micro ATM service does at your counter

A Micro ATM service for retailers turns your shop into a card cash point. A Micro ATM is a small card device that pairs with your phone. The customer uses their own debit card and card PIN, the card-issuing bank approves or declines the transaction, and you hand over the cash.

Card withdrawals on a Micro ATM are one of the long-standing ways to take cash at a Business Correspondent (BC) touchpoint, alongside Aadhaar-based AEPS and, since October 2025, UPI. In the Payonclick app, a Micro ATM gives you three services:

Cash withdrawal

The customer withdraws cash from their bank account with their debit card and PIN. You pay out the cash once the app shows success.

Balance enquiry

The customer checks their account balance with the same card and PIN.

Mini statement

The customer sees recent transactions on the account linked to their card.

A Micro ATM needs no Aadhaar number and no fingerprint from the customer. That helps a customer whose fingerprints don't scan well, or who would simply rather use a card. The trade-off is plain: the customer must carry the card and remember the PIN. Without both, a Micro ATM can't help them.

Payonclick India is a technology and service provider, not a bank. Card transactions run on regulated banks and networks, and the card-issuing bank decides whether each one is approved.

The device and phone you need

You need three things before your first card transaction:

What Details
Android phone The Micro ATM service works only in the Payonclick Android app. There is no iOS app.
Micro ATM device A Bluetooth Micro ATM from a compatible maker: PAX, MoreFun or NewLand
AEPS merchant onboarding Micro ATM uses the same merchant onboarding as AEPS, including Aadhaar eKYC and bank eKYC

The device talks to your phone over Bluetooth. Keep Bluetooth switched on and the device charged before customers arrive, so nobody waits while you pair or recharge it.

Before you buy a device, send the exact make and model to our team and ask them to confirm it for you. Checking first costs nothing, and it saves you from paying for a device you can't use.

How a card cash withdrawal works

1

Connect the device

Switch on the Micro ATM, turn on Bluetooth and pair it with the Payonclick Android app.

2

Enter the amount

Choose cash withdrawal and enter an amount from ₹100 to ₹10,000, in multiples of ₹100.

3

Customer uses their card

The customer uses their own debit card and enters their card PIN.

4

Bank decides

The card-issuing bank approves or declines the withdrawal, and the app shows the result.

5

Hand over the cash

Pay out the cash only after the app shows the withdrawal succeeded.

A decline for an amount inside the app's range can come from the card-issuing bank, which sets its own limits. Explain this to the customer and suggest they check with their bank, instead of trying the same card again and again.

Never ask for a customer's card PIN, and never enter it for them. Let the customer type it themselves, out of sight of others. If a customer tries to tell you their PIN, stop them. A shop that knows its customers' PINs is exposed if any of those accounts is later misused.

Micro ATM limits

Item In the Payonclick app
Cash withdrawal per transaction ₹100 to ₹10,000
Amount steps Multiples of ₹100
Services Cash withdrawal, balance enquiry and mini statement
Customer authentication The customer's own debit card and card PIN
Customer's own limits Set by the card-issuing bank

Note the step size. AEPS in the Payonclick app accepts multiples of ₹50, but Micro ATM accepts only multiples of ₹100. A customer who asks for ₹2,550 on a card needs to choose ₹2,500 or ₹2,600 instead.

The card-issuing bank sets its own limits, so the app's range is the most you can enter, not a promise that the bank will approve it. Every service's limits, with the official rules beside them, are on our rules and limits page.

Getting started: onboarding is shared with AEPS

If you already offer AEPS through Payonclick, you have completed the merchant onboarding that Micro ATM needs. Activate the Micro ATM service on your account and pair a compatible device. For a new retailer, the steps are:

1

Register

Sign up on payonclick.in or in the Payonclick Android app. Your mobile number is verified by OTP.

2

Complete KYC

Share Aadhaar and PAN through DigiLocker, or submit the KYC form with document photos for our team to review.

3

Sign the agreement

After KYC approval, sign the retailer agreement by eSign.

4

Activate Micro ATM

Activation charges apply per service, and our team shares them with you.

5

Complete AEPS merchant onboarding

Enter your shop, PAN, Aadhaar and bank details, then finish Aadhaar eKYC and bank eKYC.

6

Pair your device

Connect your PAX, MoreFun or NewLand Micro ATM to the app over Bluetooth.

The full document list is on our AEPS retailer ID page. You can join directly or through your distributor, and our team shares Micro ATM charges and commission on request.

When a customer is better served by AEPS or UPI cash withdrawal

A shop that offers all three cash services can help more of the customers who walk in. Match the service to what the customer has with them:

The customer has Offer In the Payonclick app
A debit card and remembers the PIN Micro ATM ₹100 to ₹10,000, in multiples of ₹100
Aadhaar and a fingerprint or iris that scans well AEPS ₹100 to ₹10,000, in multiples of ₹50, with an Aadhaar OTP above ₹5,000
A smartphone with a UPI app and UPI PIN UPI cash withdrawal ₹100 to ₹5,000, in multiples of ₹100; not available from 11:30 PM to 5:00 AM

Frequently asked questions

What is a Micro ATM?

A Micro ATM is a small card device that lets a shop offer basic banking to card holders. The customer uses their own debit card and PIN to withdraw cash, check their balance or get a mini statement, and the shop owner hands over the cash. With Payonclick, the device pairs with the Payonclick Android app over Bluetooth.

Which Micro ATM device works with the Payonclick app?

A Bluetooth Micro ATM from a compatible maker: PAX, MoreFun or NewLand. It pairs with the Payonclick Android app. Before you buy, send the exact make and model to our team so they can confirm it. That way you don't spend money on a device you can't use at your counter.

Can I run Micro ATM on an iPhone or on the web portal?

No. The Micro ATM service runs only in the Payonclick Android app, paired with a Bluetooth device, and there is no iOS app. You can register on payonclick.in, but card transactions need an Android phone with the Payonclick app installed and your Micro ATM device connected.

How much can a customer withdraw with a Micro ATM?

In the Payonclick app, ₹100 to ₹10,000 per transaction, in multiples of ₹100. The card-issuing bank also sets its own limits, so an amount inside the app's range can still be declined. Our rules and limits page lists the limits for every service in one place.

Does the customer need Aadhaar or a fingerprint for Micro ATM?

No. A Micro ATM withdrawal uses the customer's own debit card and card PIN, which makes it a useful option when a fingerprint does not scan well for AEPS. You, as the retailer, still complete AEPS merchant onboarding, including Aadhaar eKYC and bank eKYC, before you can offer Micro ATM.

I already offer AEPS. Do I need to onboard again?

No. Micro ATM uses the same AEPS merchant onboarding, so the details and eKYC you completed for AEPS already cover it. You still activate the Micro ATM service on your account, since activation charges apply per service. You also need a compatible Bluetooth device and the Payonclick Android app.

What are the charges and commission for Micro ATM?

Our team shares the service activation charges and the commission structure on request; they are not published on this website. Send the enquiry form on this page, or call or WhatsApp +91 99926 88080, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST. Sales enquiries get a reply within one business day.
